Wild Swans

Have been reading Wild Swans throughout the week. A lot of events just shook my whole being. Unwelcomed events in the lives of many created horrifying images that occured to the people of China. At the same time Jung Chang gave me an invisible invitation card to visit China myself! :) What could be more terrifying story than that which happened to her and her family?! Trying to finish the story tonight.

Being inside the dentist for hours had caused me backache, toothache most of all, and heartache. Reason for the heartache is that I will surely miss several classes tomorrow. However, I hope the message is passed to the ones who should know. Yeah...this tiny lil' tooth at the back of my mouth had swallowed almost B2xxxx!!! All my pocket money... Glad that the crown will end next Sunday and I swear, no more root canal, ever!!!

Lunar Eclipse

While hanging out with Farrel yesterday, he said "there will be a lunar eclipse tonight." "I wanna see, but what time?" I said. And he said "lets take a mat out and spread it on the soccer field and we can sit and wait..." "crazy!" I said.

BALTIMORE - Astronomy buffs and amateur stargazers turned out to watch a total lunar eclipse Wednesday night — the last one Earth will get for nearly two and a half years.  With the Earth passing directly between the sun and the moon, the only light hitting the full moon was from the home planet's sunrises and sunsets, resulting in an orange and red hue. There are usually two or three lunar eclipses a year, but there won't be any in 2005 or 2006. It began about 9:15 p.m. Eastern time and was expected to last around three hours and 20 minutes.According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, total lunar eclipses give scientists a chance to assess the quality of Earth's atmosphere. Ash from volcanic eruptions, for example, can make an eclipsed moon look much darker. The recent eruptions of Mount St. Helens in Washington were not expected to affect the eclipse because they consisted of far more steam than ash.The last total lunar eclipse was May 4, but it wasn't visible from North America, NASA said.

Interesting eh?

Tuned In To...

Who's fond of Luis Fonsi? Hm...nice to know that he celebrates his birthday 4 days after I celebrate mine. Lemme see...that's fate! This hispanic look...melts me again and again with great saliva! Haha! I didn't notice that he actually sang "Imaginate Sin Ti". You have to listen to his songs, great singer!

Luis Fonsi was born 15 April 1978 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He took an interest in music at a very young age; influenced by the popular performers of that time. When he was only 4 years old, Fonsi joined the prestigious Children's Choir of San Juan, even then demonstrating the vocal talents that would ultimately bring him success as a pop singer.

Fonsi went on to study voice and music theory in Puerto Rico until he moved to Florida with his parents when he was 10 years old. There, in Orlando, Florida, he joined a local band called "Big Guys" during the time he was in high school. Fortunately, the band was selected to sing the national anthem for a sports event. Fonsi and the band had been noticed and their work as professional artists had begun.

By 1995, Fonsi had enrolled in Florida State University where he pursued his special interest: singing. He also joined the school's choir and went on tour with them throughout the United States and England, where he sang with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Fonsi released his debut album Comenzaré and surprised the music industry with artistry. His ballads were tinged with elements of gospel and rhythm and blues music and won him instant recognition.

The next year, Fonsi was asked by Olga Tañón to sing the song "Enamorados", with her at a concert in the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, in San Juan. The duet won critical acclaim and the resulting album from the event won gold record status that summer.

In that same year, Fonsi also performed in the "La noche de Estereotempo" concert, along with other pop and salsa stars such as Yolandita Monge and Gilberto Santa Rosa. But it was the young Fonsi that surprised the critics with his excellent performance and choreography.

With his popularity growing, Fonsi released his second album Eterno in 2000 with songs like  Eterno. The release was an instant market success and his five concert performances at the Anonio Paoli hall in the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan, were all sold-out events. Clearly, the critics were impressed with the elan as well as vocal talent of this young artist.

Others noted the same and Fonsi was selected to give a concert performance in Rome for Pope John Paul II. It's not certain that the Pope's blessing had any effect but Fonsi's career continued full bore with another concert at Bellas Artes and chart leading success of his following single, "Imagínate"

Playing Deaf

Well, sometimes I feel it odd to be among the freshmen. Being around with them especially if a bunch of them are in your room makes you feel left out. Guess they probably felt that I don't belong here anymore so "get out"! Minds sometimes do play lots of tricks, don't they? Sometimes, they do tell you the truth, what people really think of you... Recently I've learned from my best friend Ernie, her email taught me how to be "deaf" to unwanted comments. Thanks for the "katak" Er...

What a day!

Wasn't much of a holiday though. Most of my time was spent on paying sleeping bills and reading. Finished quite a number of books. Those personal books that I've been wanting to read, those class books such as Thai LIt, Antonia, and lil' of O Pioneers. Done my resume as well, and pondered upon my papers too. So, basically I've been good. :)

Also discovered B69 buffet to be fascinating despite the trial-error of B79. Yuck! I still thought the thick fish meat were human flesh! Poooooooh!

BodyGlove was one supper store! Go there...

Health

A friend forwarded me this information. Lets take precaution instead of contemplating whether the below information is true or not true. I think being cautious helps a lot!

SEBAR-SEBARKAN MAKLUMAT INI ADALAH BENAR
1. Jika anda makan satay....jangan pula lupa timunnya, sebabnya memakan

Fakta diperolehi dari "Health Corporation of Singapore".

4. Barah -akibat penggunaan bahan dalam shampoo.Balik rumah dan pergi
periksa.
Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, Hemp Shampoo terbaru keluaran body
http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=shop&" title="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=shop&" target="_blank"http://www.ntsearch.com/searc...;v=56, Nature Force dan lain-lain lagi.

5. Kepada penggemar makanan jenis mee segera (tak kiralah maggi,
koayteow dsb), Pastikan berhenti makan dulu sekurang-kurangnya 3 hari

Woah!

I just love bringing friends around Bangkok. One thing is because by now I know how to travel cheap, where to see and get things and all…Another thing is because I get to do things and go with different people who have different perspectives about things. Of course my good friends who live in Bkk are all way better than I do, nevertheless, I hope I can catch up! Privileged to shop for clothes with Daron. He has a good taste definitely and assumed to love shopping too. Lots of cool stuff we liked but boyyy…they were all expensive!

Sabbath at BAH. First of all, didn’t really practice on Friday night because we ended up eating! Then the next day, was struggling with the old-manually functioning xeroc machine. Lucky there’s Dolly’s brother! My three close friends and Daron were such saviors. Can’t imagine singing a tough, classic song alone. Yeah…we did pretty well and I was blown away by Khelex and Roy’s voice. They stunned the nursing students for a while. I’m totally proud of you guys!

Thanks to Julie for letting us ‘rasmi’ her AF2 final CD. We all think that Bob should be the winner because of his consistency. Yet, this kind of reality entertainment is determined by voters.

Here’s the undisclosed transformation of Khelex – bullying the innocent guy!

~Happy Birthday Ervin~

Changed?

I’ve changed? Yes, I’ve changed. Who don’t change? Everybody change. Even caterpillar changes. Sometimes I hate it. Sometimes I love it. Change? Yes. My drastic change was in April-May 2000. That was a horrible change. It involved feelings that I swore to not let go. But situations can’t help it, thus change. Then another dramatic change was in September 2002. Again more changes. It involved concealment that I’m not suppose to keep. Still change. Perhaps I don’t feel a sense of belonging, thus again change. How many changes will occur in my life? I love changes, but not changes that hurts like a knife, give me changes that shape like a knife!

Perhaps reading my love diary today was not good. Not good for my emotions, not good for my health, not good for my contemplation…it again told me about monkey man, little monkey, three person on one small bed, tons of emails, love notes, phone slam, first duet, ex-gf’s fist, shout to the Lord, Roche` chocolates, cassettes, pinches, dog bite, snake on Sabbath, walking towards the phone boot, ‘bluegoat’, disappointments, regrets, beckoned wish, tears, laughter and to sum it up, PAIN…

However, to mount up all the tough promises I’ve claimed on each pages of the diary, none was one day did God forsake me. Not boasting, but He really didn’t forget to give me the best in His will.

Back about change. Yes, particularly this semester. Friends are wondering, but will not be long... In quest for myself. Trying to be who I am and trying to stop being who I’m not. Contemplating on which actually fits. This will I’m sure, help me when I step out. Hey, be patient with me ah!

Mixture Again

I suddenly realized today that part of the blood that's bubbling inside me has a mixture of Murut. It didn't came to me so much before, but when Kishen was asking who's half dusun and half murut in the cafeteria table just now, I was suddenly perplexed! "Murut"? Well, I don't know much about Murut culture nor understand a word in Murut but what I know is that my Mom's mom is definitely a Murut. In fact, this maternal grandmother is 'closely' related to the Agundong's family. Thus, that's how I'm related to Josephine and Josephina, uncle Kadoh's daughters. Don't really know the youngest brother though, I know my brother always hangs out with him in KK. Anyway, since my mom was not raised by her biological mom (her parents divorced), but was raised with my maternal grandfather in a chinese-kadazan way, she too has to figure out her whereabouts in Murut culture. It's fun to go back to Kg. Melalap in Tenom for there's lots of relatives there and it seems that everyone knows my family when we don't even know them. My 'nenek Tenom', as my sibs and I use to call her, is still as strong as ever and she likes to give us small pocket money whenever we go visit her. My two cool aunties are so loving that my sibs like to hang around with them. Perhaps, so much so my Murut background...

"Extra"

I'm living in a give more, receive more basis. A testimony was given to me about this and it has been proven that someone who's practicing this actually gets more in a way that sometimes it is just unexplainable of how miraculously it happens. What I meant by all of these is that if we give more time to God, we will actually receive some sort of "extra" from Him. One can receive that "extra" in many different ways. As for me, I always wanted more time. So recently I was complaining about not having time and God led me to someone who shared me her personal experience with time and things. After hearing her explain how she got those "extra" from God, I was in a way driven to try it out myself. Thus, I'm trying hard to do this everyday...

First thing to do when you wake up in the morning is to put God first and give Him your precious 30 minutes. Spend the 30 minutes by first lifting up praises, followed by confessions, then give thanks and pray. Next is reading your Bible. Say your prayers. Then last but not least, contemplate on the things that you've read and meditate upon it the whole day.

I'm in the process of keeping these methods intact in life, and of course being blessed abundantly each day. Hope you'll take the time to try it out coz' there's no regrets of any sorts after doing it. All the best!

Don't happen

BEDFORD, N.Y. - Christopher Reeve, the star of the "Superman" movies whose near-fatal riding accident nine years ago turned him into a worldwide advocate for spinal cord research, died Sunday of heart failure, his publicist said. He was 52.

He's my all time favorite-- the handsome, charming Christopher Reeve

Sabbath was spent restfully and was quite touched by the numbers of baptism candidates. Glad that Roy is back and thank God for his passport.

Quite lazy to write though since I'm caught up with lots of preparations for midterms and as usual, research paper to write. Don't like it and am counting my weeks!

Going ons..

The dentist should have informed me earlier that she's takin' off earlier so that I don't have to rush like crazy to reach on time. Ish...I went down to Bkk for nothing! To feed my frustrations, I ate more brocolli!

Enjoyed wrapping durians on Tuesday night. Again it's for my dad. We bought another two packets of durians from Lotus this time and threw away the previous one 'coz it began to sour. So sayang! I could have gone home to Sabah if classes wasn't on. Anyway, wonder how Roy is spending his short Sabah vacation. Hmmm...

Was so touched by the message from Pr. Moses today. He shared an increadible testimony about his wife which, her faith amazed me so much! Another talk from Pr. Moses that I enjoyed was the story about his daughter's panda bear named "Amanda". Didn't really concerntrate on the one last night because JJ busy drawing each other while others were leaning their ears towards the speaker. Such an influence! The air-cond in the audi gets so cold at times that I could hardly breathe but shiver. Hope when I'm up there singing with Mark, people won't misunderstood that I'm on drugs! Singing "Closer than a Heartbeat" tonight.

Sidangan

My weekend was surrounded with friends. Maybe most of us wanted to indulged ourselves with some kind of entertainment before midterm calls. We enjoyed Sizzler after church and I made sure to fill myself with lots of greens before coming back to college. Lots of people are getting cold right now and my antibodies have to help me work twice as hard to not get sick. Again I visited the dentist because I accidentally damaged the temporary filling of my root canal-ed tooth. Against my wish, I did not watch Stepford’s Wives but good for the two guys, they watched! Instead Roy and I went to Steak Hunter!!! Then we went shopping for durians for my parents. Goodness! We carried almost 3 kilos of it and walked from BigC to the main road to fetch a taxi or bus when it was raining but such a walk was in vain. We took the BTS as a substitute and oh boy…the durians smell…people were starring us with their pointy eyes. ‘Tsk…tsk…tsk…tsk ’ to my dad’s durian!!!

A story was told that once there was this couple. The husbany was going away for a pleasant vacation and the wify was trying all her best to prepare for Husbany’s trip. While they were shopping, Wify thought that it’s good to ask for a decent box to put all the things that Husbany needed to bring. While Wify was choosing among the big boxes, Husbany misunderstood that Wify’s idea was to put the box into Husbany’s back packer’s bag. So Husbany told Wify to forget about the box. Wify thought for a while and said to her self “how the hell does Husbany thinks he can carry all the food stuff in his bagpack together with all his clothes?” Perplexed, Wify left the shopping mall and walked towards home. On their way home, they discussed about the ‘box matter’ again and Wify gave her reasoning. Suddenly Husbany got the message and Wify quickly asked Husbany to go back to the same mall to get one of the boxes that they were looking at previously. To the disappointment of Wify, Husbany refused. As soon as they reached home, Wify was oh so mad that she smacked almost everything in their house. To make matter even worse, instead of using Husbany’s towel (that Wify leaned on to), Husbany took out a new towel and went for shower. Wify was all screaming and kickin’ and slapping and gritting her teeth with anger. She wanted to express all her anger that was in her to Husbany instead of bottling it up, but Husbany acted as if it was just another scene of Wify. In the end, Wify couldn’t hold it any longer about her feelings and she cried for the first time after so many years, as hard as a baby! And Husbany patted her to sleep…

Oh no, this story is so stupid and funny that I cried as hard as a baby too! The ending is eeeeeeh! It felt so nice to cry sometime, don’t you think so? Hehe..

Hair trimming…
