Lousy department, are they just after the money and taking advantage of the teachers?? I almost gave up on my teaching career when the GED students challenged not my intelligence but my dignity as a teacher. I was really holding my temper in argui ng with this Engli sh guy who thinks he is the smarterst guy on earth! To tell you the truth, this department sucks a lot! I rather teach in the mainstream! Look, the rules are not reinforced, the teachers don't care or they just stop caring, the head teacher is leaving, no printer, no teacher's desk for us to do our work comfortably and the students, especially the GED ones have -0.0 motivation, they come whenever they like to, they skip classes, they ignore you and some don't care at all. I'm just thankful to God for giving me angels in my homeroom class because they are just the opposite of the GED rascals! If things gets worst, I'll just have to stop teaching GED classes and concerntrate on my other classes! I just can't stop caring and I just can't throw away what I've practiced in this career. I know it's not my first pick in the list of jobs, but I've been putting 100% of my heart when I signed for this responsibility. Now the head of the department is leaving this Sunday, where should the complains and questions go? Ah, enough said!
I walked to Carrefour this afternoon after the incident above happened just so it gave me space to breathe. On my way, I was contemplating on life here and thought that life could be much more easier if I were back home. I could easily have access and priveledge to so many things that I couldn't have otherwise. But what about life's purposes? Sometimes I do feel like a camel in a zoo. Read on...
A baby camel asked his mother, "Mom, why do I have these huge three-toed feet?" His mother replied, "well, son, your toes help you to stay on top of the soft sand when we trek across the desert."
A few minutes later the baby camel asked, "Mom, why do I have these long eyelashes?" His mother replied, " well, son, your eyelashes help keep the sand out of your eyes on our trips through the desert."
A few minutes later the baby camel asked, "Mom, why do I have these great big humps on my back?" His mother, who was getting a little impatient with her son, replied, "Well, son, your humps store water for out long treks across the desert, so you can go without drinking for long periods of time."
"That's great, Mom," the baby camel said. "we have huge feet to stop us from sinking, long eyelashes to keep sand out of our eyes , and humps to store water. BUT ...... Mom???"
"Yes, son?"
"WHY are we in the zoo?"
application:
God created you and me for a purpose, He's provided you with gifts and talents so that you can serve him and make a difference in the world. Are you doing what God created you to do? Maybe you feel like the camel in the zoo. Life is easy, things are going along pretty smoothyly, but you have a nagging feeling inside that maybe you aren't living up to your God-given potential. Let Jesus today set you free and give you the abundant life that you were meant to live (John 10:10).
Thanks Maclan for sending this message to me! *_*
