My true color is BROWN. The test I took from www.tickle.com says:
You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.
Went to EIS church and witness the MC Collegiate Chamber Choir sing. It was awesome and made me long to sing in a choir as well. Met all my friends who are with the choir and that of course made my day brighter! Went to a potluck in a senior friend's house close by the school and afterwards stopped by GG's house. Gwen and I decided to do make overs and she offered free facial service which turned out to be so so refreshing to my face. For once I thought a big peel off had been made to my skin and it was replaced by a new one *_*! Wanted to go to Swensens for some ice-cream but it was already late..next time GG!
CNY January 29, 2006
Happy Chinese New Year 2006! I was so excited when I woke up yesterday morning and quickly tuned in to a chinese radio online and prepared to cut and fry a CNY cake called Nien Gao. It's somewhat a traditional cake that my mother usually buy or sometimes make every year then fry it with beaten eggs. Now my excitement was partly because I've always like CNY celebrations and I miss home of course. However, I enjoyed it in a different way this year and it was all good.
Jordan and his family happened to be in town yesterday. So after my frying activity, quickly changed and took the bus to MBK. Jordan's family, Roy, Jov and I enjoyed our Sizzler meal and guess what? Jordan & Chrystal had their first BTS ride. After sending them to up to Ratchetewi, we headed to Siam Paragon and waited for the CNY show which was at 7:30pm. While waiting, we went around Siam Paragon - the largest mall in Southeast Asia. We managed to stop by Kinokuniya, the largest bookstore in Bkk, and friends...if you want to look for books, this is the place. Lots of choices and one thing excited me as well-lots of chinese books! Now I can start polishing my rusty chinese. Not forgetting the car show on the 2nd floor, wewwwwwww...just WOW to the ferraris and BMWs. Roy and I were like little kids touching the different surface of the luxury cars we liked. "Since we'll never have it, a touch will do to fullfil the desire for now..." ahahahaha!
I definitely enjoyed the Paragon's CNY show although my feet was hurting so much due to too much walking and standing! Lots of reds and got to see what my brothers and I used to call the Sasatung dance and the Dragon dance. I came home exhausted and very very sleepy but I really had a good time!
Today Holiday January 31, 2006
Hibernating day. Stayed home and didn't do much. Maybe I should compose something here...hold on...
Here’s Chinese New Year
Where’s my Ang Pao’s mommy?
Not celebrating…
Ok I know that sucks...well, time to upload pictures in flikr!
I took the "What Breed of Dog Are You" test and guess what? I'm a Chihuahua!!!! Tsk..tsk...tsk...But, as tiny as you can see it is, it has BIG personality! Read the result that shows why I am one:
No bones about it, you're an energetic, devoted Chihuahua. For your breed, size definitely doesn't matter. After all, sometimes the best things (diamonds, car keys, Godiva truffles) come in small packages. Honest and straightforward, you're never afraid to speak up for what you believe in, especially if it's a cause near and dear to your heart. Having such a passionate personality can come with a few drawbacks, though. You can be moody at times, and people often find it hard to live up to your high standards. But once you make a friend, it's for life. Saucy and intense, your energy and unfailing loyalty make you a great companion. Woof!
Thanks to Fiona for sending me this English joke. If this is true, then it'll be easier for us who reads malay, tagalog and as such...
European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.
The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze first plas.
I haven't really wrote a good opening for this year 2006! Blame it on the change of TBlog's layouts and stuff. Anyway, I really had a good start although I was back home in Sabah. Nothing can buy me out from my families and friends. My time was well spent although I stayed home most of the time. Astro was really my faithful companion besides chit-chat sessions with grandma! Mom's cooking is always the best and I'll sure vote for her recipes before Jamie Oliver's! Oh well, funny conversations with dad also cheers up my cells..perhaps I should compile all the jokes that he and I have laughed about huh?? Brothers...well, one of them is certainly too busy dating and the other one too busy catching up with old friends...sister...she's too busy with household and stuff but overall I'm glad to have spent Christmas and New Year with them. Now obviously coming back to Thailand gave me unhappy feelings as such 'coz here it means "work, city, work, city" or "money, work, money, work"!
Work today drove me up to the wall and what's worst, some students decided to even pin me up for being so sensitive! Now excuse me Jack Axx, who's being sensitive here?? Exactly! Here comes a British guy named Jxxk Edwards and Jxnex mincing into the classroom (from the cafeteria) when there's only 5 minutes left for Maths. Judge me either sensitive or dissapointed but when you're the teacher and this Jack axx guy starts blurting out after a "Why-did-you-go-to-t he-cafeteria-during-class -time?" Dare him say "I was hungry and I needed to eat...I don't want to sit in class hungry and I really don't care about your feelings...what's wrong with filling up my tummy?...you're so childish Miss...you're too sensitive..." Darn..for a sec. I felt like swearing since he's speaking with too much sarcasm and I know I really don't deserve it from him since he's just an annoying baby who's trapped in a mao-yung-guai-lou's body! Yes Jack, tell me that I'm being sensitive...SEI PAT LAO!!! Just because you're from England and painted messily in white you think that you can treat your petit Asian Math teacher as you wish??? Gei wo khun!!! A real Ben Tan!!!
At last, Narnia is crossed as 'watched'. Yeah...I enjoyed it and thank you Ropoy for your willingness to 'stare' for the second time! I can identify with Lucy because she potrayed all the emotions in scences that I actually felt when watching those scenes. A big salute to C.S Lewis!
God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist prays to Him, "God, we don't need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the 'beginning'." "Oh, is that so? Tell me..." replies God. "Well," says the scientist, "we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man." "Well, that's interesting... show Me." So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil. "No, no, no..." interrupts God, "Get your own dirt."
I'm worried of my work load in school. It seems that I'm doing more but getting paid less! What more, I don't have that extra time anymore after school since I'm giving free tuitions...! Those whites are getting more bucks but have done almost nothing and it's really not fair at all! Adding to what I'm already facing right now plus this BIG change in TBLOG, life's so much a roller coaster and I feel like quitting. And truthfully, I don't feel like the bamboo tree described below right now...neither being a fern helps...
One day I decided to quit... quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...I wanted nothing but to quit my life...
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God. "God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me..."Look around", He said.. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo." He said. "In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit."
He said."Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?" "I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you." "Don't compare yourself to others."
He said. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high" "How high should I rise?" I asked. "How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return. "As high as it can?" I questioned "Yes." He said,
"Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help you see that
