Discovery

While surfing for list of ethnic groups in China for my Bahasa Cina class, I was surprised to see that there's actually some Russians living in China since the 19th century. This information was so new (and thought it was cool) for me that I actually made some research on them. Read here guihua. Hey, who knows there's some group in China actually speaks kadazan-dusun?? Ya'll never know!!

I think this summer class is really interesting for I think I'm learning even more compared to my students since I've been doing a lot of research specifically on the Chinese in areas such as the history, culture, literature, music, etc. At least it brings me one step closer to understanding and discovering half of my root. At the same time I'm refreshing my brain to tune in to chinese writing, reading and conversation. I'm enjoying my summer and we have four more weeks to go. I finish at 1pm every week days, wish school time is this short every normal days...

Last week was quite an interesting week since Dee was around. Got to go window shopping, wind shopping, makan, minum, laughing and all that with her. So nice to have close friends around you. The week made me a 'lil bit richer (well body size included).

Just recently I discovered that taking a nap after work is actually so good and rejuvenates your body a lot! So nap is considered one of my way of passing time after 1pm. Syok!

When Influenza strikes

When influenza strikes, there's excuses to not to go out, not to attend church (like today) and not to do housework. This flue has been with me since Wednesday. First it striked only my left nose, then it travels to my right nose. Increadible! Went to the mall last Thursday and got myself pills called Actifed. Wow, amazing what effect the pills can do to my body. Like someone said, it literally stone you down with dizziness and drowsiness. Once I thought I was drunk and could hardly concerntrate on what's happeninig to my surroundings. Nevertheless, it keeps my eyes wide open after!

It's Sabbath day today and I decided to skip church for the reason given above and yeah, because of Actifed (Tripolidine HCI). Suddenly Roy and I thought of going to MC just to get away from Bangkok and the noise. Well, I guess we are really going since Roy is into it. That means, Daron can get his Sims Cds. I hope I won't forget 'coz it's still inside one of the boxes somewhere. Thought of Darlien, the alien that sprung out from nowhere hehe. There's another one, ZomDarBie, but I guess the face didn't turned out to be that haunting  Ah, hope to see Darlien today.

I'm still rubbing my nose, ah...it must've been the Pattaya trip that causes such. Oh, the trip was all good. I let the students plan all the activities and places to visit. We teachers just sat on the van and follow where it led to. I really enjoyed Koh Lan beach and Nong Nooch garden. The beach was one of the highlights. We all enjoyed the sun of course. I discovered that I looked better when I'm a little tanned. Well, I'm just drowned with the Asian concepts although I don't use skin whitening cream. Too bad, very little sunshine nowadays, more rain, more muds, more yucky street walks! Bangkok turns peach black to me when it rains. No fun and life at all!

The world cup in Germany is on and I am amazed by those who are eager to watch their star or favorite team play. I don't have a favorite team, I don't even have a favorite player, so I thought what is it with a ball? I guess it's fun when you join a bunch of crowd shouting GOAL, GOAL, GOAL! Wait, there's a movie entitled GOAL right?

Summer school is starting this coming Wednesday and I'm teaching Mandarin. I could already feel the jitters and how those nerves rambles. Aww! Well, at least I have more books for reference purposes now. Can't wait for next school year, when parents complain about how terrible a chinese teacher I can be.

Singing off...signing off...
