Wanna see something cool captured yesterday? Yeah...something to do with the sun! We were in the middle of class when one of my classmate suddenly rushed out after reading her cellphone's sms. Well, I still can't explain it fully, but the picture below is courtesy of my husband, Hobbit the great! Oh ya, it happened yesterday July 30th, 2007, around 10:22am. Take a good look of the ring. Will post more of the pics when I get back. For now, this is all I can upload with little time! Mmmuah!*_*

MC Tuesday
07.24.07 (7:27 pm)   [edit]

This is the second day of my Assessment class. I was totally wrong to assume that those who have taken the course are always right when they told me how hard and difficult the lecturer was. What I found out was somehow the opposite. Besides the assignments being lengthy and require lots of work, the rest are quite easygoing. I like the lecturer, she's very nice and very approachable. Well, I have approx. 9 days to go before this Masters classes ends for this summer.

MC brings back lots of college memories. Good and bad. Before, everything and everyone is familiar but now the familiarity has somehow changed to being total strangers. Hm..don't know if I word it right. The point is, I no longer belong here, but each corner of the building still seem to be so warm and welcoming.

Hobbit and I went to the talaat (open market) in Muak Lek today and we really enjoyed it. The last time we actually went to one was in Pattaya. The colorful fresh fruits, fried chickens, fish cakes, cheap clothes, cheap utensils, authentic food, ahhh...too many things for you to look at and buy in the market!

With growling tummies, we went to one of our old time favorite Suki stall. Nice food and quite a change of environment if compared to high class Bangkok.

I hope to update more as soon as I get the chance. I'll leave you with peace and prosperity!!!!! *wink*

Too much of something...
07.22.07 (1:07 pm)   [edit]

...is bad enough...

Blog readers, I have been too lazy to post or take up any post lately. Today Hobbit and I will be off to MC. Lazy days are over, need to get into studying mood again. I myself think that I have enough of a vacation. Now I long for the positive-optimistic force to surround me.

O Lord, take this idle, shiftless habit off me, fill me with a persevering spirit and forge me into a superwoman again. This is my prayer, amen!

Bless you all!Kiss

Another PS post
07.19.07 (3:13 pm)   [edit]

Well, recently I've been talking a lot about plastic surgery in this blog. Not that I like to talk about it but that I am actually doing some sort of a research on how it works, etc. I am too lazy to elaborate on what I am actually doing but what turns me off is to know that many good looking actors and actresses actually have superficial face for stupid fools like us to admire.

What I am reading right now is from Plastic Surgery in Schenectady about breast augmentation. My friend that I mentioned in my previous post is desperate to have her boobs swell beautifully as well. So right now she is just waiting for her moola to come in order for her to pay for the surgery. What advice could I give to a young, beautiful chick like her who yearns to become a chick queen of the year??

Red is me
07.19.07 (2:56 pm)   [edit]

I was browsing through several prom pictures online just to find out the latest fashion of prom dresses. Well, so far I only like one. The dresses are either too fancy, or too much in showing cleavage. I hate fancy dresses, and I don't have cleavage to show off!

I am thinking of a theme color for my wedding back home. Well, it wouldn't be super big, just a small family gathering and that's it. However, I still want to have theme. Look at this picture...what do you think? Huh...my mom will probably say "Only the santung will want to wed in this color!" Well, I'm not a santung!

New Eyelids
07.18.07 (10:51 pm)   [edit]

One of my friends just gotten a new pair of eyelids. Amazing but true. Just a touch of what we call plastic surgery, she emerged from being a Thai with a Thai look to being a Thai with a foreign look!

In Orlando cosmetic surgery, they have different types of procedures. They have what you call as facelift, weekend facelift, browlift and all sorts of lift just to help you lift up your self-esteem! Well, some say it is safe but some say you have to live with the side-effects later on. To me, it depends maybe. Some places just want to suck up money without considering their customer's discomfort. Some actually give good warning precautions and some even discourage you from doing it if it really ain't necessary. Like this friend of mine, she actually wanted rhinoplasty, but the doctor suggested to do the eyes since it is less risky. See, it all depends. If you want to do plastic surgery, be sure to get good, experienced specialist and not just trained-in-the-market beauticians!

Growing Old
07.18.07 (3:59 pm)   [edit]
Throughout my KL trip, my family and I had the chance to talk and chat about almost everything under the sun. One of the topic we came to talk about was about growing old. When my siblings and I discussed about us and our parents, my mind was busy imagining how many irresponsible children nowadays who could not or don't want to take care of their own parents. They rather send them to live with other relatives who would take them in or send them to old folks centers. Well, some centers just help old folks take care of their daily needs while they visit but some places such as Forth Worth nursing homes actually provides good services. As much as I admire the work done in nursing homes, I have no intention at all of sending any of my family members there. Well, my siblings and I agree that we would never have such thoughts. We agreed to take turns looking after mom and dad, for better or worst. After all, who are we without them. *_*

In the plane: The Heck with 100mL!

I was ready. So I took the taxi to Suvarnabumi airport. To my surprise, it cost less than 150B. It was 121B to be exact. Oh wait...did that guy sitting behind me just farted??? Smells like rotten eggs! Anyway, I'm actually blogging from AirAsia airplane. It's so boring here. I'm sitting next to the window, the middle seat is empty, and the end seat is taken by increadible hulk who is eyed fixed to his PSP. Wish I could borrow. The lady who is sitting across the alley looked like she just had a rhinoplasty aka nose surgery. To read more about rhinoplasty, there are several good sites such as Rhinoplasty San Jose.

As I approached Suvarnabumi airport, it was already 1:45pm. So I quickly checked in and bought lunch. The food I had wasn't so nice. It was fried garlic chicken with fried egg and rice. I hated the meat and threw all of it away. I don't know why I keep buying food with ayam but hate meat nowadays. It makes me want to puke! Lunch over, looked up the time and it was already 2:48pm. Rushed down to the 2nd floor and looked for dad's favorite facial scrub. The lady at the counter asked me "Are you flying out of the country?" I replied "yes". So she sealed the product I bought in an air-tight transparent bag. Why the sealing??

Shoot I thought. I need to pay for airport tax. So I rushed up to the departure area and searched for the tax ticketing. None. Asked the security guy, he smiled and said "no Miss, you don't need to pay tax!" What? What? Was it that long since I last traveled? Yee haaa! No need to pay for tax, people!!

I needed to go to F1 gate and it was at the other end of the airport. With a big, full, bulky backpack, a notebook hanging on my right shoulder, and a shopping bag occupying my left hand, I could hardly run. Nevertheless I kept walking until I reached the entrance to GF1. Qued for my passport check, then straight to the gate entrance bypassing all the duty-free shops.

There's something unusual as I approached the security check desk. Before the scanning area, there's a security personel standing right in front awaiting for me to put my stuff for inspection. The first thing they noticed was the durian flavored tidbits. He said I can't take it in the plane. Oh well I should have known better, not to take any durian, even durian flavored. My bad, so you may throw it away. Then he saw the mosquito electric rackets my mom asked me for. Thank God we didn't get three honey! They said they have to confiscate those too. So I asked why? There's no sign or anything that warns me not to take it. Plus I wrapped it nicely and won't harm anyone. They insisted with a big "No". So I said can I leave it here so I could pick it up when I come back? "No such service." What??? When another personel came and took it away, I was so pissed and sarcastically say "throw it, throw it!" Next, they went through my backpack. My make-up pouch. Guys, they literally looked into all the content of my liquid stuff! From my zits tube, mascara, foundation until my medium sized pantene shampoo! They then very kindly dumped all the liquid stuff, toothpaste, zit's pen, etc into one air-tight transparent bag. Oh well, that was neat! Now I know why Boots put the stuff I bought into one too! Ah, they threw away my brand new shampoo! $#%*! Reason - more than 100mL. Yeah right! Mineral water? Label was more than 100mL, but content was way less than 70mL, got into the bin too! Fine! Then my Seishido facial wash, toner and stuff...if they took this away, I wouldn't have screamed! Thank God no seishido went to the bin. When everything was done, I walked away with a traumatized face and tons of raging angers!

So right now, I am safely tucked in the plane and trying to sit tight due to some turbulences...

July 13, 2007 10:23pm M'sian Time

Met up with my brother right after the plane landed and later on met up with parents. Had a good meal at Kenny Rogers and now I am comfortably settled with my parents here in one of the hotel in Subang Jaya. It's so nice to be with them again. My brothers are just so eager for me to come as well as my parents. Seeing them again took away all the home sickness I had since they last visited Thailand.

Happy Birthday Dad & Hello Subang Jaya

Mom started her course. While she was busy with her program, we were out busy with shopping and eating! Went for lunch at In Kopitiam at Subang's Carrefour, ordered Nasi Lemak and it wasn't that nice. Still, nothing beats Kopitiam Bangkok's Nasi Lemak! Bought some learning CDs for my students and off we went for free massage at Ogawa!

The highlight of the day: Celebrated Dad's birthday at Windmill Restaurant. The environment in this restaurant is just nice for candlelights dinner. The Gecko Creek was super...shhh! It was all worth paying for. Glad dad enjoyed his birthday. Nothing beats celebrating birthdays with your family, we all had fun chatting and laughing. I am just glad to be here with them. They were right, why would I say no to a free ride?? Hehe!

July 15, 2007 10:30pm M'sian Time

Rain, rain go away!

Stayed in the hotel until noon time. Raining heavily and too lazy to get wet! Mom was all excited about her course. It is hard to spend time with her since she's all hooked up with her course. I seldom see her attitude while studying, but sharing the same room with her made me noticed how serious she could be when she's concentrating on her stuff. Dad and I even got scolded for talking and laughing out loud!

Went to Subang Pyramid after mom was done with her course. As you noticed, I really like to tell you readers about food hehehhee! So we went to The Manhattan's Fish Market Restaurant. Ohh heaven, the dish that I ordered was my family's favorite. Everyone was scooping out of my plate! When it came to paying bills, this one waitress from Sabah gave us a 10% discount under her name. When asked why? "Sebab kamu dari Sabah." Wow..very sweet of her. We were teasing Ander for luring her through the dishes eek!Money mouth

With our bulky stomachs, we decided to stroll along the Subang street. It was cool and windy. Subang Jaya is not quite bad. I like its quiet city night life with lots of good restaurants you can go to, unlike Bangkok. Good restaurants closes at 10pm or 10:30pm. What is left is all the noisy club restaurants apart from the small small food stalls! Okay, stroll is over, time for bed.

Cuti-Cuti Malaysia & Merdeka Sale

Went to KL. Time Square, Bukit Bintang, Sungai Wang, KL Central, etc. So lazy to elaborate shopping details. Will leave you with pictures. Good food, good walks, tons of sale vs limited moola, happy faces, happy tummy and happy hands (carrying shopping bags *_*)! I finally get to shop in NOSE! My favorite footwear brand for now. I almost pajak 5 different styles! Too good with the discounts and unique style. I like and I will come back NOSE...wait for me!

With a successful persuasion speech from mom, dad and I agreed to attend a one session course with mom for free. We thought it would be way boring, so dad and I secretly made a deal to sneak out when mom is concentrating with the talk and go eat! The moment we reached the ball room and sat, both dad and I didn't moved our butt off the chair due to the interesting information given. The speaker was great too. At the end we were just glad to have attended the course with mom. Later, we visited Windmill again for a big plate of noodles.

Back to the Land of Smile

I am at So Wanna Pooh Suvarnabumi airport. This airport is no longer friendly to me now. The immigration process after my landing was damn slow too that I had to stand in line for about 1:30 minutes before I could get my backpack! Too many planes landed at the same time and very few Immigration officers were on duty. The line where I stood had a very lousy officer. It took him about 10 mins. just to check all the documents for one person while the officer on my left and right only spent like less than 2 mins.

I am so hungry and heavy rain outside. Wanted to take the cab but my hobbit said he could fetch me. That means I have to wait and who knows how long this wait is going to take me. I am so hungry.

Dad was the one who accompanied me to KL Central before I took AA skybus to LCCT. I know he will be lonely today since mom is attending her courses, brothers are back to their places, and I am here. Good thing is brothers will be with them tomorrow and they will move to a hotel in KL. That means lots of traveling and shopping for them without me.

Battery running out. I better go eat something! Ah..I see that century egg congee again!

Free Calorie Counter
07.13.07 (11:56 am)   [edit]

I don't understand why lately I suddenly turned into a weight conscious person. I blame it on the age when I suddenly realize that I could easily gain a few pounds these days. Unlike before, I frowned at the idea of being a weight conscious especially when I have several friends around me talk about their body weight all the time. They tend to control their diet too much that sometimes it went way beyond the normal limit. Now I am hopping into the same boat with these people!

If you are still outside the boat or already imagined yourself inside the boat, there is a website online that could help people like you and I to track our daily diet. Free Calorie Counter is fast and easy to use and will teach you the nutritional contents of what you are eating, and consequently how you can make better food choices. What more, it is totally free!

What a wife!
07.13.07 (10:14 am)   [edit]

I'll be flying to Malaysia in a few hours. Too busy printing most of the reading assignments a while ago. Looks like I'll be reading Assessments and Culture stuff in the plane. Advance assignments arrived too. This really scare the hell out of me! I haven't even started classes and yet there are like pages and pages of .pdfs to read?? God help me!

I'll be missing Roy. We have not stayed apart for more than a day after we got married. I probably will feel a li'l handicap without him. It's use to be do me this, do me that, take me this and take me that...what a wife??? I know. One of the things I'm proud about being with him is that whenever I need him, no matter how far the distance for him to come to me, he will take or do whatever to make it to me. No wonder our car needs refueling all the time huh?! What a wife??? I darn know!

Well readers, I'll try to post from where I'll be heading to. Hopefully no gaining weight. I hate looking at the weighing scale these days... the flabs too!

God is good
07.10.07 (9:43 pm)   [edit]

I spent the half a day yesterday reading and researching about Gor, the famous teenager who started Thailandlife.com. Well, I guess I will blog more about him when I have the time. He has quite an interesting story that somehow astonished me.

I thank God helping me throughout the day today. If it wasn't for Him, I wouldn't have gotten my 90 days stay report done and wouldn't have gotten my re-entry visa. I didn't know why I kept a thousand baht in my purse unspent (if you know me...) until God revealed its use today. He provided at the right time, at the right place. Amazing isn't? How people like me just don't get it but God is always there watching and checking His list twice in order to make things possible for us. Some people prefer calling it coincidence, but this is just how God shows that He loves us. That is why, He deserves all the praises!

God is good all the time and all the time He is good! *_*

Bathroom & Kitchen Ware
07.10.07 (10:31 am)   [edit]

As much as I love my current bathroom, I hate leakage. Yesterday I tried to close the one of the tap in my bathroom and water keeps dripping tick tock tick tock! The other day my kitchen's tap broke down and the landlord managed to get it fixed. After replacing it with a new one, the kitchen somehow looked different with the shiny new tap! I wonder if the landlord will have to replace a new one for my bathroom? Who knows maybe a new tap will give an extra shine to my bathroom as well?

Believe it or not, I surfed Bathroom & Kitchen products just to have a look at the many types of taps and showers that they have. This website has several unique designs of taps. Check out this one -- water saving taps. Since water and energy conservation are very much a global topic today, this type of tap can save both water and energy. Another tap that interest me is the Dia Electronic sensor tap. This is really what most people need in most public toilets be it in a shopping mall, restaurant or maybe schools. It is a good way to reduce the spread of germs, don't you think so?

Well, there are many other products such as bathroom showers, bathroom accessories, kitchen sink and other things that you can check out from this website. Honestly the products are not that cheap but the prices are inclusive of vat and delivery. So, if you want to browse for taps or other bathroom and kitchen accessories, don't forget to surf this site, maybe you will find something that you fancy! Wink

Weekend Movie Spree
07.08.07 (5:48 pm)   [edit]

I am watching too much movies. Just done with a Korean movie, and plan to watch another one! I have to tell you I was well pleased with Transformers. It brought back memories where I would accompany my brothers in front of the telly and watch with full concentration. However, the truth is I was never a big fan. I don't plan to make a review on it since most of you know how it went already! Mistress of Spices, another movie of the Miss World Universe, Aishwarya Rai, led my husband and I back to a lot of literature's terms and symbols. Ahhh the many symbolic words and images, I would guess our English major big boss would interpret even to the slightest pinch of this movie. Well, maybe I should watch Dream Girls now?? Speaking of weekend laid back pleasure!

What's hindering me from watching another movie right now is seeing my textbooks on the shelf! As if it's calling me to make plans. Speaking about lesson planning, I'm sure most of you out there who are teachers would agree with me that lesson plans aren't your cup of tea considering the time it takes, the typing or writing you have to do, the flipping of the pages, etc. Not only that, I also need to prepare course outline! It is always my favorite part course where lecturers would hand us students their course outline. It makes things so easy! You know what to expect, what to skip reading, or even questions for the finals from the objectives or goals of the course outline. But making one, is another part to elaborate.

I have more than enough Chinese textbooks and reference books now. Thanks to Roy who is more than willing to drive me to Sathorn area yesterday to get those books. I love the bookshop. I want to visit again.

*current mood:

 Solving Rubik's cube!!!

Shopping Cart Software
07.04.07 (7:42 pm)   [edit]

After my college years, I dumped most of my books and stuff in the store room. I also packed several boxes and kept them in my friend's store room. I was rushing into new jobs, new place, etc that I promised to come back and sort out those things later on. Some of the things are still brand new like my covered shoes, which I bought and never had the chance to wear it, my party dress, my hair curler and many other stuff that I just did not have the time to use or try them on.

I was browsing through some websites yesterday and found Ashop ecommerce software. With this web based program  that has many different features, it is just so easy to start a store online. It is affordable, search engine friendly, user friendly and you can even customize the look of your site to make it more attractive.

Guess what? Ashop is offering 10 days free trial! So, if I am planning to make business online, I can save a lot rather than paying so much to independent web optimization companies every month.

In The Rain
07.04.07 (6:05 pm)   [edit]

I just discovered about Rynn Lin Yu Zhong. Who is he? Well, he originally hails from Kuching, Sarawak, is a song/music composer, a singer and an actor! Before the release of his first debut In the Rain, he has been composing songs for other big chinese artists such as Jordan Chan, A-Do, and JJ Lin. What made most of us Malaysians proud was that he recently won the Best New Artist title at the Taiwanese Golden Melody Award.

I really like his well-rounded skills in music. In Rynn's album, he utilized his guitar skills in all of his warm ballads which makes his music more personal and alive! Listen to his duet with The Lagenda queen, even though his Malay pronunciation is not so good, but the song will sure blow you away!

Digital Photo Frames
07.02.07 (4:52 pm)   [edit]

Do you take load of pictures with your digital camera? Do you develop each photo out? Well, as you can see through my blog, I love putting up photos that I snap nowadays. As a hobby, I take my digital camera everywhere I go and by the end of the day, I upload it into my laptop. Load and load of pictures! To develop out each photo? No way, there are too many!

What I am trying to say is that there is no harm in developing photos for keep sake, just that when you start to accumulate albums after albums, they can become very bulky and sometimes takes up a lot of space.

To eliminate bulky photo albums, I discovered a very trendy way to upload photos and enjoy them on a frame sized screen with digital picture frame!

I was amazed of such invention. How do you use it? Well it is very easy. With DigitalFramez, just take your photos, transfer your memory card into your Digital Photo Frame, use  the remote control to choose your favorite slide show or video, and view your photos for as long as you like. Simple right?

The price ranges between $99 to $199. It comes with frame sizes that you can choose from. Now they are on promotion with a free 256MB SD memory card for every 10 inch frame order. Honestly, it is not a cheap product but it is indeed a good product to have for your home display.

So check it out at DigitalFramez , you might be amazed with this latest invention!

ATM vs Instinct

What would your mind possibly be thinking when you just made a bank transfer of several thousands to a friend's account from an ATM and your instinct and your heart tells you that something is really not right?

If you ask me, I would definitely say that my mind is processing in a body without a soul! I definitely worry like hell and it would be as if my soul looks down at its restless worried frame made of sinful flesh and got all shocked by its ugliness!

I can't believe this petrifying incident happened to me today. I made a trip to a bank in a mall and stopped at the ATM vending machine to transfer some BIG cash to one of my trusted friend . I entered my pin code, gracefully and fearfully followed the procedure, and precisely entered the desired account number of which the money will go to. I patiently waited for the name of the recipient to appear right after keying in the numbers. The name didn't appear. Then I re-entered the pin number and waited for the name again. It still fail to show up on screen. So I thought maybe the bank must have updated the system or whatsoever they did to it since this is not usual. Then what popped out next was a prompt to enter the amount that I wanted to transfer. So I thought again, hmmm..okay, and entered the amount! I thought twice before I clicked confirm and somehow I felt like something is not right but clicked CONFIRM anyway. Well, I hate it when your reflects is actually quicker than your head. Sometimes it does happen, when the neurons are just too slow to reach your reflect nerves. Then when I was hoping for a receipt so that I can double check, my card came out but without a receipt! I wanted to turn back and triple check, but the line can't wait!

Walking out from the bank (I managed to ensemble a long queue), my mind was thinking so hard that I thought I was breathless. I felt the place was too warm while before I thought it was unbearably cold. I kept telling Roy that I don't feel right and that I wasn't myself. In fact I even told him that we just lost thousands of Baht! How and why I said it while earlier my actions did not contradict abit, I don't know.

As a result, Roy got worried too and wanted badly for our friend to check her account. Luckily she could access to an ATM immediately. As planned earlier, we proceed to an ice-cream parlor. We placed our orders and waited while glancing at each other -- worried. Holly strong b owly, the zesty ice-cream didn't feel like divine at all! To my taste bud it was unsavory and I couldn't enjoy it like I used to at all! Then our friend called and told us that she checked her account and was sure that nothing was being transfered into her account. This made all of us panicked. Could the bank possibly withheld something that the transfer was delayed? Or did the money took a U-turn and feed someone else's starving account? We rushed through our ice-cream and left for the bank again.

We went through the ATM procedure and this time checked the balance of the account. To our amazement, the money was still sitting my account. Not a single sneaked out. So we tried transferring again and right after we keyed in the acc. number, the name of the recipient appeared. What was that awhile ago??? Well, we tried a small amount first (just then I applied some brain), then gradually sent the rest without any itch feelings!

I learned quite a few lessons from this. First, I learned that the ATM screen can lead your fingers to press just about anything be it right or wrong choices and it just goes about to the next command without having to THINK, but your instinct is part of your conscience that actually pops out even when you're not THINKING and while making the right or wrong choices! Then, I learned that people tend to worry so much about loosing money, but not when loosing God. We humans tend to risk almost everything to get back what belongs to us, but we do so little to help other creatures like animals to get back what is theirs. We pray so hard when things are at its worst, but never even think of thanking God when everything is blissful. We take the Holy Spirit's voice for granted or never try to listen to it most of the time, but when we need it, our head is full of worries and noise to hear it speaks. Perhaps, I can draw many other lessons from this incident, but as for now I will live to really understand these thoughts first and see what God is going to do with me next.
