How to Embrace Freedom?

With my masters and short courses over, I just couldn't believe that it is hard to live a "normal life" after getting used to years of studying! In fact, I just realized that I have been continuously studying even right after college and into my teaching years. I am not a genius(which is a fact)nor am I obsessed with books but realizing what I have put myself into throughout the years literally made me ask myself, "Aren't you tired?"

What I meant by living a "normal life" is that, I find myself restless at home without assignments to stress about or do! It's really weird. It is even funny that I thought I was...But am not, because Hobbit feels the same way too! We are not used to being LIBERATED from assignments! We ask each other this at times "What to do this evening?" Heh..

Now that the liberty is slowly sinking into our minds and routine, Hobbit and I are looking forward for new challenges, new hobbies to pick up and new things to learn. For me, I prefer it to be music, a passion I left some decade ago. Until I could tell you other stuff that we might be venturing into, wish us the best.

Right now, we are going to flood ourselves into lots of Korean series. in the evenings. We love Spring Waltz! The songs are currently in our MP3 players.

Is It SAFE?

I really appreciate my online friends having deep sincere concern towards Hobbit and I regarding our safety after all the turmoils STILL going on in Thailand. Last year the Yellows degraded Thailand by conquering the airport, this time the Reds again degraded Thailand by conquering the Asian Summit meeting. Embarrassment after embarrassment faced by this country where Hobbit and I could call our second home. All the colors associated with riots towards the government and confusions that were caused...

I just am not sure how long we could live approximately close yet not get affected?? It is true that we still can travel safely as long as we stay away from the troubled vicinity but what is safe if murders and assassinations are being reported almost everyday in news? A recent murder incident happened to our former (transfered to another school) students (siblings) two weeks ago. The whole family, five of them including parents and a maid, were murdered at their very  own home. Read here. Thinking of this nation's ugly issues made me think more about our future here. Are we going to be okay? Is it "SAFE"?

As of now, I just wish to hooked on some travel deals and escape. I am totally fed up with these crap!!!

A Duck is Not Too Bad

Coming back to civilization after a 28km hike and living with wilds for 3 days 2 nights, I can say that I totally enjoyed the trip to Kaeng Kachan. It was worth the sweat! However, it didn't leave me with nothing. Instead, this trip had literally made me walk like a duck for the past 48 hours. They say no pain no gain which is inevitably true but how is it being helpful if you have to literally drag your feet to work the next day? Hah! I found out that I wasn't the only person in school who relentlessly crying for a good massage, there were octoplets of us if I should count. Anyway, today has been WAY better plus this morning I just couldn't resist the spanking fab stils! Another goodby to Solo Slim, the flesh is again moving sideways, thanks also to this awesome trip. I had a good one. :)

Avocado Juice

Last week back in Sabah, I went to Tanjung Aru with some of my friends. As usual, I really like the gigantic glass of fruit juice they have in all the juices stall there. This time, a friend who frequent that place a lot suggested that I should order Avocado juice to which I did as was told. Guess what? I was thrilled the next day that I didn't need my colon cleansing products for I knew what must have been working on me. Boy was I satisfied and decided to order the same thing the next day we visited again. How I wish that avocados are sold cheap in Bangkok. The price chickened me from even touching them on the cooler shelf!

"Cheap" Strawberries

Just to share this with tBlog readers. I know some of you are too lazy to navigate between my blogs. So here is.

I went to Jusco to shop for fruits and only fruits the day before I left for EARCOS last week and what thought to be cheap was actually expensive (at least to my pocket). Here's why...

Hobbit and I got too excited on the idea of buying nothing but fruits on that evening and so we walked hand in hand and la la-ed into the store. First thing we picked up were roasted coconuts followed by ready packed jack fruits. Then our eyes caught up with the shiny orangey persimmons. Those of you who live in this city (Bangkok) know that this orange colored fruit is not so cheap compared to prices down south say Hadyai. Well, we looked at it and it's 45B each and the texture didn't look fresh anymore. Expensive! Suddenly, we spotted this big, fresh, well packed strawberries. The label on the shelf right below the strawberries' packs says SALE - 35B. Wow! It looked imported but what the heck...big, fat, glossy, shiny red strawberries! Hobbit got excited just by the look on my face and he took one pack and shoved it into our shopping basket! On we went to pick bananas, ciku (not sure what this fruit is called in English), milk...

At the counter, Hobbit and I slowly observed the figures that appeared on the cash register's screen...300+...400+...As the sales lady lasered through the strawberries, I noticed the price stickers behind the pack....

It's 139.00Baht!!!

It should be for imported fruits...:(

Maybe this amount meant nothing to you but here we were thinking it was on some stupid 35B SALE!! Argh how silly! The total of our FRUITS ONLY shopping amount to 500+Baht.

Smart...not!

Lesson learned. Never trust the labels on display. Check the item's price that you are going to purchase if you don't want regrets to kiss you at the counter. Not only that, I think it was Jathrow

p/s: Forget the price, the strawberries actually tasted REAL STRAWBERRIES!! *wink*
who reminded me again to always check your bills before paying at any restaurants you go to regardless. You might not know what unnecessary extra you would end up paying without your eagle eyes! :)
