New School Year
08.16.06 (5:26 pm)   [edit]

Heslo! Ehem...excusee me for not blogging. The new school year for our International schools here have just started so it kept me busy until today and probably will stay this way until the end of this month since there's still a lot to be done. If you haven't already know, I'm no longer teaching at where I was last year but am back to teach at EIS and for a change, as a chinese lao shi hehe! So say I'm not glad and thankful is not true but it's all that plus satisfaction and happiness. It's not that I wasn't satisfied in my previous school, it's just hard for me to accept the overall management which came down to involve students to the most. Despite my disatisfaction, I gained A LOT of experiences while working there and not to mention the wonderful students I met, they answered all my questions on purposes for me being there. Also I admit that I had a great year and met great people.

Well, so far as to say how work went this past few days, I only have 13 credit hours of teaching, lots of time to prepare for my lessons (thank God for this), still trying to type out the chinese course outline, still wondering what textbooks to use, still getting used to the chance of relaxing, learning to appreciate my own teacher's desk (which I never had last year), embracing the morning ride (green bus 71 that drives like hell!), trying to figure out what language should I use to communicate to K3 kids on the first day, finding out teaching methods for G1 and G2, and basically learning how to become an early bird, which is darn hard if you know me!

Ok, quote from one of my students in G2. I was teaching about rules and one of the rule in the student handbook says "no bringing pets or stray animals to school" and asked if any of them have pets. One of them replied "I have pets, a dog and a fish. My dog ate my fish and my dog died and now I do not have pets!!"
