We were in for the graduation weekend last week. Hobbit and I are all happy for friends that finally made it and were so eager to face the real world. When I met and talked to some of them about their feelings to have made it this far, they said as if echoing my often said phrase "It's like a whole burden has just been taken away" from them and that some of them can finally have the freedom to do what they long to do. Some of them expressed their worries of not being able to get the job that they have been dreaming of and for some, they are not afraid of jumping into something (a job) that they never thought they would be doing. Well, these things are part of the journey in life and I am sure with God's help nothing is impossible for these graduands. God is good. Well, it is nice to say it again and again that God is good because His unending love for each one of us is just uncomprehendible. Our MC graduation weekend was supposed to be a one-day trip. Traveling from Bangkok to ML was smooth, not until we were less than a kilometer away from MC that our car was all heated up and halted right after swerving left into a junction. God must've sent Angels to hold the engine until we made that turn. Thank God nothing has to be messed up on car insurance. Imagine if the car broke down while we were at the motorway or along Bkk-ML highway. It could've been a different story altogether.
Thank God. If it weren't for our Samaritanian friends, help would probably arrive after a few dreaded phone calls and put-ups thick faces. I was wrong thinking that there were no longer any good samaritans out there. Many cars big and small, old and new passed by and kept their thoughts in their head about what has gone wrong with our car. None dared to stop for a courtesy "why?" or "need help?" Well, one did. It surprised us. These guys were driving a small white shabby truck that looked like it has went through lots of earth work and heavy duty lifts. The two men in it weren't dressed up as if heading to church but looked ready for another long toil at the farm/garden. "What's wrong? Need help?" Which the two men who were with me replied "Nothing. It's okay!" And the truck slowly drove off. "That's exactly a sermon for us today!" I agreed. The annual graduation evening potluck was graded as "less-happening" ; compared to the past years. It was expected--due to the inexpected. Nevertheless, we managed to pull it off quite well. Thanks to those who came, cooked, ate, washed and cleaned. A reason to stay overnight and make do with "side-B"!
Congratulations Graduands!
