Happy Eid

Hari Raya was declared yesterday. A friend of mine really wanted to know how to greet Selamat Hari Raya in English. Well, I told him that generally people in Malaysia will understand if you greet them Happy Raya. However, this friend was debating that there is a term used to greet muslim friends. He went on to mention that it was something like Happy Eeed...Well industrial products, I seriously never heard of it but I do know there is a type of greeting people use around the world for this occasion. So I went to Wiki and I found out that my friend was referring "Happy Eeed" to what the muslims from other part of the world used for greeting-- Happy Eid. Eid comes from the word Eid ul-Fitr which is the same with Aidilfitri. Ah, now it is making sense. Sometimes it is also used to refer to Eid ul-Adha which clearly means Aidiladha. Well, I guess we never really look into all these Arabic terms closely. Anyway, since it is the second day of Raya, Happy Eid everyone and enjoy  all the kuehs while they last! :)
