Mixture Again
10.13.04 (5:29 pm)   [edit]

I suddenly realized today that part of the blood that's bubbling inside me has a mixture of Murut. It didn't came to me so much before, but when Kishen was asking who's half dusun and half murut in the cafeteria table just now, I was suddenly perplexed! "Murut"? Well, I don't know much about Murut culture nor understand a word in Murut but what I know is that my Mom's mom is definitely a Murut. In fact, this maternal grandmother is 'closely' related to the Agundong's family. Thus, that's how I'm related to Josephine and Josephina, uncle Kadoh's daughters. Don't really know the youngest brother though, I know my brother always hangs out with him in KK. Anyway, since my mom was not raised by her biological mom (her parents divorced), but was raised with my maternal grandfather in a chinese-kadazan way, she too has to figure out her whereabouts in Murut culture. It's fun to go back to Kg. Melalap in Tenom for there's lots of relatives there and it seems that everyone knows my family when we don't even know them. My 'nenek Tenom', as my sibs and I use to call her, is still as strong as ever and she likes to give us small pocket money whenever we go visit her. My two cool aunties are so loving that my sibs like to hang around with them. Perhaps, so much so my Murut background...
